About

It's midnight. I'm sitting at my desk, wondering. What do I put here? Do I ascribe to professionalism, or authenticity? A value upheld by what's expected of me, or a value I honor in both others and myself?
Alexandria is a 29 year old woman, born and late-blooming in Massachusetts. As a self taught artist, she's always known expression has been her calling. After facing years of mental, physical and emotional hardships(Such as cancer when she was 26 years old, and undiagnosed mental health issues that caused her to drop out of high school.), she persevered and found her way back to her passions again. This website marks the beginning of her new chapter.
Her paper and pencil are her most reliable companions. She's had them at her side as soon as her hands could hold them. During schooling, assignments were always notoriously illustrated - ranging from fantastical creatures to the emotional ebb and flow of day to day life. Though much time was spent in solitude, it nourished a rich imagination. She read at a college level in grade 5; thanks to her ambitious book diving habits and time spent online writing as characters she created. As early as 10 years old, she was teaching herself how to navigate complex programs such as Photoshop.
Today, Alexandria indulges her imagination through any media she's drawn to.
Primarily this includes (but is not limited to): the fine arts, poetry, photography, digital illustration, and concept design.
Her method of engaging with these forms of art? She describes it as ''learning to flow with the journey that's laid by her desire to bring visions to life'' - and to share how she takes in the world.
She believes in heart centered creation. Why? Because catharsis can be found through inviting the full spectrum of a person's humanity to be explored in artistic expression.
This includes both the tragic and beautiful elements, as well as grey areas between them. There is beauty in laughter and in struggle.
''It shines a light on the the complicated structures we bear within ourselves, giving them permission to be seen and understood.''
Simultaneously, we are inviting others to step into a unique universe that is each of our lived experiences. Through doing so, we foster connection with each other.
Alexandria's greatest muse is her inner child. Nostalgia and music in particular have a heavy influence on her creativity.
''But honestly, everything inspires me. Pain, the stars, sunsets...Even decay - how nature takes care of us after we pass. If we've never been given flowers, one day we will become them instead. The earth and all of her wonders...I'm thankful to be a part of it.''
